| This is the latest
creation, modeled on the P90 this is a compact lasertag weapon which will
prove very handy on the battlefield!
As usual the gun is made from 40mm aluminium channel, this time upside
down with the lens assy mounted on top. A plastic component box holds the
PCB and speaker while the batteries soldered together and are held in
place under the component box. The rear where the box and batteries are
located is covered with a folded piece of sheet aluminium. 40mm X
3mm flat bar is used to cover the open channel and is folded around the
rear of the gun to form the end of the stock.
Another piece of channel is secured to the top of the lens assy and
acts as a level surface for mounting of optics onto the top rail. This
unit does have a laser pointer built into the top section, it is only
intended for zeroing of optics and non lasertag activities.
The wooden hand grip is made out of two pieces of hardwood which are
jig sawed and routed as one piece. 5 screws hold the two halves together
allowing them to be split in two. The inner part of each half can then be
routed to provide wiring channels as well as easy trigger mounting.
This pic shows the fake barrel which could house a
muzzle flash LED. The small hole above the lens is where the laser beam is
emitted. On top of the unit is a basic red dot scope, made by Daisy, which
is mounted on 3/8 dovetailed piece of 12X3mm flat alum. bar. |
