| Decided to build a
G36C as it is one of my favourites and you can't build one of these
without putting a folding stock on it!
Early building stage showing raw materials and the stock folded around.
A 'self closing' cabinet hinge was used as it snaps into the open position and will hold itself there. A small clasp is used on the opposite side to lock the stock in this position. The hinges added feature is that when it opens it does not sit flat against itself. Instead it provides a gap between the two parts allowing for the thickness of the main part of the gun.
The magazine was made hollow to allow for batteries to be housed. Thin aluminium sheet is used to cover both sides of the wooden magazine.
