F2000

This design is base on FNH's F2000 Tactical, it is just one of those really cool designs I thought I would have a go at making.

It is made from layers of Ply and MDF, with a PVC pipe lens assembly and a piece of square aluminium tubing on top.

I didn't want to make another black gun and was considering doing gun metal grey or a mixture of darker colours. In the end I went with a new camo scheme. I was looking to do this on another sl8 I had made and decided to experiment with the colours and shapes of the F2000. It came out pretty well, it may not blend in exactly with my local environment, but it is something different and I think it is better than an all black or dark green scheme.

An early unpainted shot without the side panel. Cutouts are provided for batteries, PCB and also for weight reduction.

Basic shape before routing.

This shows the first patterns being applied. It starts with a tan and a green spray paint and then grey stripes stenciled on.

An example of one of the stencils used for the grass patterns.

An early version of the camo scheme, using unstenciled brown in the backround.
